OPEN CINEMA Wraps a Successful Sold Out Season Eight with Powerful: Energy for Everyone and Earth Day Fundraiser.
Victoria, BC – April 8th, 2011. On Wednesday April 20th, OPEN CINEMA’s eighth season of sold out events will conclude with their fourth annual Earth Day fundraiser and the Victoria premiere of Powerful: Energy for Everyone. A timely discussion about alternatives to fossil fuels and nuclear energy will follow, with filmmaker David Chernushenko (via skype), Donna Morton (First Power), Guy Dauncey (BC Sustainable Energy Association), Olympic goldmedalist and biodiesel engineer Adam Kreek, who also appears in the documentary. The discussion will be moderated by Hugh Kruzel.
“It’s a thrill to see OPEN CINEMA premiering Powerful: Energy for Everyone in Victoria. Both because of the important and innovative way in which Open Cinema is helping independent films to be seen by the general public and because Victoria is a hotbed of energy innovators, several of whom actually “star” in the film. It’s people inspiring people, which is an underlying theme of the film Powerful.” For more information and to view the trailer, visit www.PowerfulTheMovie.com
