TOPIC:  PRODUCING ANIMATED CONTENT

Kim Dent Wilder (Senior Vice President of Production and Operations), Tara Kemes (Director of Talent Development) and Kylie Ellis (Director of Production) are a team of animation executives working at Rainmaker Entertainment. These women will share their experiences of working together to successfully produce animated content in this highly complex and creative industry. They will outline the CG process, from development to team building to end product, with a special emphasis on the collaborative nature of producing animation.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:

Kim Dent Wilder, Sr. Vice President of Production & Operations – Kim rejoined Rainmaker after a three year break, during which time she was Chief Operating Officer of Nexon Publishing North America (NPNA), a Vancouver-based global online entertainment company.  During her previous 10 year stint at Rainmaker, she was Vice President of Production, Executive Producer and Producer on numerous titles such as Beast Wars, Weird-ohs, Reboot, Barbie, Hot Wheels, Max Steel, The Spider-Man animated series, Stuart Little 3, Inspector Gadget and more.  She has her Bachelor of Commerce and Economics and several years experience in the live action world.  In her position, Kim oversees all studio production and operations.

Tara Kemes, Director of Talent Development – As Manager of Talent Development, Tara acts as the hub between Production, HR and Operations where she oversees and fosters career growth of all of our talent. She is also responsible for all studio recruiting. Prior to re-joining Rainmaker, Tara was Manager of Recruitment at NPNA. She also worked at Relic Entertainment, where she developed and honed her recruitment style in the games industry. Tara brings her extensive artist connections and resource to Rainmaker, bolstering its commitment to talent development and creating an increased artist-friendly environment.

Kylie Ellis, Director of Production – Kylie comes to Rainmaker with a well established industry career founded in both classical and 3D animation. Her cross platform experience, combined with her extensive production background in roles from Post Production Coordinator to Producer, gives her ability to see the “big picture”, while understanding the significance of animation at a.k.a Cartoons, Studio B and Bardel, Post Production Supervised for Walden Media, and made her way to Rainmaker in 2009. As the Director of Production, Kylie ensures consistency in production practices and standards in our studio, and keeps her strong Producer skills through collaboration with Development to produce original shorts.
