BC Film Commission seeks production statistics

The BC Film Commission would once again like to request your cooperation in helping us to collect accurate and complete production statistics and expenditure information for all motion picture projects i.e. (feature and dvd films, television series, movies of the week, pilots, documentaries, short films and animated projects) produced in British Columbia in 2010.

The motion picture industry spent over $1.3 billion dollars directly on production in our province last year.  The statistical information provided by industry establishes the level and value of production activity in British Columbia and demonstrates to government and all British Columbians the economic importance of our industry to the province.  Accurate industry statistics allow government and industry stakeholders to work together to create tools to foster the future growth and development of the industry and to measure the results and success of those efforts.

If you did not register your project with us, please complete the online wrap form on our website for all 2010 projects that your company filmed or produced in BC last year.

Please be assured that individual budget information for each specific project is kept in the strictest confidence. Statistical information is released in aggregate only.

If you have any questions or need further information, please contact Karen Lamare at 604 660-2456 or Jennifer Cameron at 604 660-2732.

Thank you in advance for your support.
